LSH Architects

Redwood City Contemporary Architects

LSH Architects provides comprehensive architectural services to build custom new buildings, additions and renovations.  LSH Architects works closely with clients to design highly personalized spaces.

Formerly LSH Studio, this Bay Area architecture firm was founded in 2002 by the architect Lori Hsu.  Lori’s extensive experience designing contemporary residences on the East Coast led her focus on custom residential projects when relocating to California.

With over 20 years of experience with new and renovated properties, our projects are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Massachusetts, Alabama, and Washington.

Problem-solving skills paired with artistry provides the framework for beautifully crafted architecture.  LSH Architects designs are light-filled open spaces with inviting natural materials and clean details.

The material palette is developed to support the overall vision of the design.  Finishes are selected and detailed to showcase the beauty of natural materials.

LSH Architects balances and integrates larger scale building design with finer details in the design of staircases, doors, cabinetry, fireplaces, and decks.  These focal elements imbue spaces with character.

Harmonizing form with function, LSH Architects excels in creating technically proficient designs with sensitivity to aesthetics, materials, natural light and the environment.

Lori Sang Hsu, Architect

Principal, Architect

Lori received a Masters in Architecture from Harvard University in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College in 1992.  After graduate school, Lori worked for 6 years with Charles Rose Architects in the Boston area, designing contemporary high-end residences, academic buildings and art centers.

In 2002 Lori relocated to the Bay Area and established her practice LSH Studio, which incorporated in 2016 and became LSH Architects.

With sensitivity to client needs and thoughtful problem-solving, her design solutions are clear, balanced, and inviting.  Lori’s facility with the shaping of spaces with geometry imbues her agile designs with grace, lightness, and energy.

Lori merges Asian background with east coast edginess and west coast ease.   As a minority woman architect, Lori’s cross-cultural background and passion for architecture inspires her to celebrate diversity and inclusiveness in the pursuit of architectural excellence.

Lori was born in Seoul Korea and grew up in Queens NY.  She lives in the Bay Area, is married with two children, and enjoys cycling, traveling, and photography.

Tiffany Dell'Aquilla

Tiffany Dell’Aquila Miller

Project Designer, Architect

Having been raised in the Bay Area and educated in Southern California, Tiffany brings a wide breadth of distinctly Californian architectural experiences to the table. Truly appreciative of all the architects that have taken her under their wing, Tiffany is now a practicing architect in North San Diego County and continues to enjoy a collaborative relationship with Lori.

Culturally, Tiffany’s roots extend beyond California’s borders. Being half Taiwanese, she has been honored to represent Taiwan as a fencing athlete on the international stage. Although she narrowly missed qualification for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, she brings these cherished experiences to her professional practice.
