Perched on a narrow lot in Truro, MA, with sweeping views of Cape Cod Bay and the surrounding coastal landscape, this modern beach house was uniquely shaped to frame water views and maximize the panorama throughout the home.

The open-air terrain and overlooking vantage were focal points of this contemporary home design, emphasized by flat rooftops and wood sidings that create a playful composition of stacked volumes against an open sky. Indoors, the mood is elaborated with stained concrete floors, wood ceilings, exposed steel beams, and metal panels that polish the geometry with a relaxed, minimalist look.

Capitalizing on the home’s angles, an open floor plan and multiple access points integrate the indoor and outdoor features in free and fluid arrangement. At the ground level, the kitchen, dining, and living areas create an open sequence of spaces with plentiful natural light admitted through large windows and window walls.

The open-air and light-filled ambiance continues upstairs, where upper-level bedroom views are framed towards the bay by a broad row of windows. An upstairs sitting room opens out onto an overlooking roof deck, which, situated between bedrooms, creates an additional outdoor interconnection of the entire upper-level area as well as an accessible leisure space with elevated open vistas.
